Famous Smoke Shop announces 2009 Golf Tour with ESPN Radio

There are three things that make a round of golf great: Cigars, golf, and cigars. Now, Famous Smoke Shop, in partnership with ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley (AM 1230 & 1320), is proud to present the Famous 2009 Golf Tour. The first round of the tour begins on Friday, April 24th, at Riverview Golf & Country Club in Easton, PA, which will host all six preliminary matches, including the final Championship Round on Friday, October 9th, 2009.

All of the matches will be held on Friday mornings with a shotgun start between 8-9 AM depending on the weather. Each round will be co-sponsored by a leading premium cigar manufacturer (see schedule below), and will provide players with complimentary cigars. On Saturday, the fun continues with a special event and deals on the sponsoring manufacturer's cigars.

"Each match will be a two-man 'Best Ball Scramble,'" said Famous Smoke Shop store manager, Tim Carr. "If a player doesn't have a partner, we will assign them one. Players' handicaps will also be used as a guide for creating the foursomes and pairing-up singles, but not for scoring of the rounds, which will be based on a points system." he added.

The cost to play is $89.99 per person, per round. Depending on how many rounds they want to participate in, players can play at a pro-rated discount.

"The more rounds they sign-up for, the more they'll save," said Carr. "Players who register for all six rounds will save $150."

After each match, all players are invited back to the Famous Smoke Shop Retail Store for their weekly ESPN "Happy Hour" where food and drinks will be served along with deals on the featured sponsor's cigars.
