NBA Scores: Utah Jazz Blow Huge Lead, Fight Back to Drop New York Knicks

Deron Williams scored 24 points and dished out 13 assists, Carlos Boozer added 21 points and 11 rebounds and Ronnie Brewer finished with 17 points as the Utah Jazz (46-27) blew a 24-point lead but fought back to drop the New York Knicks (29-45) 112-104 on Monday night, inching closer to locking up a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

In the opening frame Boozer scored 10 points and Williams added 7 as the Jazz carried a 36-24 lead into the second quarter. The Jazz kept their double-digit lead for much of the second quarter but eh Knicks managed to keep the game from getting away until the final three minutes when Utah closed the half on an 11-2 run to head into the break with a 67-46 lead.

Utah pushed their advantage to 70-46 early in the third quarter but a 12-2 run from the Knicks got them to within 72-58. The Jazz extended their lead up to 84-64 with five minutes left in the frame but once again the Knicks used a run and closed their gap to 86-78 by the end of the quarter.

New York continued to chip away at the Utah lead and after a pair of free-throws from Nate Robinson the Knicks had completed the comeback and led 93-92 with seven minutes left in the game. Utah then scored seven straight to reclaim the lead and while the Knicks managed to get to within four with 30 seconds left Kyle Korver sank a pair of free-throws with 22 seconds left to ice the game.

Utah shot 54 percent from the floor on the night and hit 5-11 from beyond the three-point line while the Knicks struggled from long-range hitting 7-23 from that distance.
