MyTego.com Featured Artist – Brett Sys

Wutz on ur skin?  MyTego.com is continually updating their online catalog of images with graphics from local artists and artists from around the globe.  Brett Sys is one of the artists showcased in their “Featured Artists” section of their online image catalog.

Brett Sys was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  He graduated from Kildonan East Collegiate with a dual honors diploma majoring in advertising art.  To continue his education, Brett applied, and was accepted, to the Winnipeg Technical College where he completed the twelve month program in production art.  This is where he learned about printing technologies, layout and design, before graduating with a certificate from the college.

After college, Brett was employed with a small company that made awards and recognition products.  He custom designed awards for hospitals including the St. Boniface Hospital, charity organizations, sporting events and more.  When he left this job, he took a position with Levy’s Leathers Ltd. which is one of the largest manufacturers of guitar straps and musical accessories.  Brett was in charge of making new designs for the year in the Sonic Art Series.  He was also head of embroidery for all the straps.  They took customers’ logos and embroider them onto straps of their choice through a process called digitizing.  After this, Brett started working for MyTEGO.com doing advertising, banners, stickers, and templates for phones.  Currently, he is working part-time for MyTego.com and attending Red River College taking Information Systems Technology.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing in his band and does design work and website work for friends of his and their bands.  Some of his design work is featured on www.MyTEGO.com so customers of MyTego can place his artwork on Tego skins that can be applied to their personal electronic gadgets.
