Major Rescue Underway Following Helicopter Crash in North Sea

A search and rescue operation has been launched by the Aberdeen Coastguard in Scotland after a helicopter went down in the North Sea near Aberdeenshire.

 

Reports have suggested there were about 16 people on board the Bond Super Puma when it went down. There has been no word on what caused the aircraft to crash.

 

Search and rescue efforts include a pair of RAF rescue helicopters as well as a Nimrod marine patrol aircraft and two lifeboats.
