North Korea in Final Stages for Planned Satellite Launch

North Korea is believed to be finalizing their preparations for their planned satellite launch, ignoring the warnings of the United States, Japan and South Korea.

According to the U.S. Defense Department the rocket has now been fueled and remains on schedule for launch between April 4 and 8, a time frame North Korea gave the International Civil Aviation Organization last month.

While North Korea has claimed the launch was intended to send a satellite into orbit but many in the international community have said the launch was to test a long-range missile. Calls to abandon the launch have been met with indifference by North Korea.

On Friday U.S. President Barack Obama warned North Korea could not threaten the “safety and security of other countries with impunity.” Despite the warning North Korea has remained defiant and has actually threatened any country that attempts to stop the rocket launch, calling such a move an act of war.
