13 Confirmed Dead in American Civic Association Shooting in Binghamton, NY

An attack at the American Civic Association in Binghamton, NY has left at least 13 people dead and several more injured.

According to early reports a single gunman entered the building with a high-powered rifle around 10:30 a.m. and opened fire. When the attack ended three-hours later two men were led from the building in handcuffs and placed in separate police cars.

The situation inside quickly turned into a hostage situation as the FBI sent in negotiators while police and SWAT team members surrounded the building and evacuated local homes and buildings. A group of about 20 hostages were released from the American Civic Association but several more were left inside, detained by what appears to be at least two gunmen.
