Academic Summer Camp Maintains International Acclaim

In 1981, SuperCamp President Bobbi DePorter envisioned a summer enrichment program designed to help students find the excitement and motivation to be more successful inside as well as outside the classroom. By 1982, this vision became a reality.

Since graduating the program’s first 64 students that summer in Lake Tahoe, California, the academic summer camp has grown by leaps and bounds. As DePorter’s goal of creating a summer enrichment program grew, so did enrollments, and now, 27 years and over 50,000 enrollments later, SuperCamp has become more of a success than she could have ever asked for.

Today, SuperCamp hosts students from over 30 countries, spanning five continents. Parents from all over the world have learned about the confidence and motivation that students acquire through each of SuperCamp’s five summer enrichment camps, and every year are eager to send their kids to one of SuperCamp’s seven sites throughout the United States, which include Stanford University, Cornell University, and Wake Forest University.

Through SuperCamp’s international success, the academic enrichment program has outgrown its domestic boundaries and successfully implemented programs across three continents and into countries including England, Mexico, Singapore, and the Dominican Republic.

Each year, the learning and
life skills that kids and teens gain at SuperCamp contribute to personal, academic, and professional success that is recognized by parents all over the world. This is why SuperCamp has seen such a strong demand from parents throughout the international community. In the summer of 2009, SuperCamp will be hosted in countries throughout the world, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and Bermuda.
