Blake Griffin Foregoes Final Two Years at Oklahoma, Declares for NBA Draft

Oklahoma Sooners sophomore forward Blake Griffin will forego his final two years and enter the NBA Draft.

Griffin made the announcement during a news conference on the campus of Oklahoma on Tuesday with his head coach Jeff Capel sitting beside him.

The 20-year-old had one of the most dominant seasons in recent years as he collected 30 double-doubles during the season to win Player of the Year honors. Only David Robinson collected more double-doubles in a single season, 31.

During the 2008-09 season the 6’10” Griffin averaged 22.7 points and 14.4 rebounds per game and led his Sooners squad to the regional finals in the NCAA tournament where they lost to eventual champion North Carolina.
