Three siblings responsible for shooting at a Florida police officer and robbing a bank in Georgia on August 2 have been apprehended near Walsenberg, Colorado after a high speed chase. Authorities confirm a tip led to Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, and Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21.
"At about 1:30 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department received a report that people were spotted in the area of Woodmen and I-25 that matched the description of the Dougherty siblings,” authorities said in a statement.
Police attempted to pull over the trio, who has been dubbed the Dougherty Gang, after spotting their 2006 Subaru Impreza sedan leaving a campground near Colorado City. The siblings refused to stop and led police on a 20-mile high speed chase before crashing on Interstate 25. All three suffered minor injuries. Police say the Doughertys fired several times at officers, but no one was injured.
