John
Calipari may find his transition to Kentucky a lot easier as reports have suggested
that prized recruit DeMarcus Cousins will join the Wildcats next year.
The
6-foot-10 Cousins had verbally committed to Memphis but that was while Calipari
was the head coach of the Tigers. Calipari had verbal and signed commitments
from some of the nation’s top players for next year but uncertainty quickly set
in after he took the job at Kentucky.
Rather
than head to Memphis and play for Josh Pastner, the new head coach, Cousins has
opted to follow Calipari. Cousins averaged 29 points and 12 rebounds a game for
Leflore High School in Mobile, AL and earned McDonald's All-American status.
