San Diego-based Ashdon Golf, maker of the award-winning Round-A-Bout and Bermuda Triangle putters, among its full line of golf club products, has been named Presenting Sponsor of the 2011 U.S. Putting Tour Championship, it was announced today.
In making the announcement, Jim Hartley, president of the U.S. Putting Tour, said that Ashdon Golf is a perfect fit for the inaugural USPT Championship. “Ashdon Golf has some of the finest putters, drivers, woods, hybrids, irons and wedges on the market and we’re anxious to let more golfers see them and try them.”
Hartley indicated the tournament, which takes place at The Crossings in Carlsbad, California, will be known as the 2011 USPT Championship Presented by Ashdon Golf. Top amateur finishers in this national putting championship will receive merchandise certificates redeemable for Ashdon Golf products at its online store.
“We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the 2011 USPT Championship,” said Ronnie Pritchett, CEO of Ashdon Golf. “This a great event for us to showcase our products to amateur and professional golfers from all around the country.”
Mr. Pritchett went on to say that Ashdon Golf will have its full line of golf equipment on display throughout the U.S. Putting Tour’s Championship Week, September 26 – October 2, for competitors and other golfers to demo. Ashdon Golf also will make its putters available to members of the media who attend the U.S. Putting Tour’s Media Day at The Crossings on August 30.
The 2011 USPT Championship Presented by Ashdon Golf is open to all golfers ages 13 and older. Men and women, amateurs and professionals will compete together for the title of America’s Best Putter. The winner will earn $10,000 and the beautiful USPT Championship trophy. Golfers can sign up now at the putting tournament website.
Ashdon Golf’s Bermuda Triangle putter is designed to connect at the center, the heel and the toe of the putter blade, creating a perfectly balanced putter that eliminates twisting and turning of the putter when swinging to hit the golf ball. The putter conforms to USGA rules, which state that the shaft must be connected to the putter head in a single connection in a single plane.
The Round-A-Bout™ G-360 putter features a circle on the front and middle of the putter blade that is exactly the same size as a golf ball, 1.68 inches. This design and a line directly above the circle give golfers the ability to line up the ball in the middle of the putter, which virtually eliminates miss hits and produces a much smoother roll on the ball.
The Bermuda Triangle and Round-A-Bout putters from Ashdon Golf are the only putters on the market that can stop the torque during the back stroke. The Round-A-Bout™ G-360 putter was named the top putter in the country by Rankmark in 2007. Ashdon Golf’s Loft Line irons were ranked third by Rankmark in a recent industry survey of leading irons.
