Family-owned-and-operated since 1997, Puryear Custom Pools specializes in the design, construction and installation of custom gunite residential swimming pools. Headed by the husband and wife team of Jason and Jennifer Satterwhite, Puryear Custom Pools believes the key to a successful project is having a relationship with their customers built on trust.

“Puryear Custom Pools is the only pool builder in the Ft.Worth/Dallas metroplex that guarantees our prices won’t go up after a client signs a contract,” says Jason Satterwhite. “This even includes excavation and rock charges. It’s important to us our customers feel they are being taken care of throughout the entire process, which is a big reason why we are so hands-on with the company.”

Puryear Custom Pools offers their work to new construction as well as existing homes. One thing, however, remains constant; there are no cookie-cutter designs.

Puryear Custom Pools uses a program called Pool Studio, based on AutoCAD, to create the initial design drawing in 3-D format. The resulting pictures offer realistic representations of the client’s dream pool and using the simulation, clients are able to view their design in daytime or evening, and even through their windows from the inside to see outdoor views of the pool. This can all be viewed in a moving picture format that includes sound and moving water effects. Everything is drawn to scale, complete with landscaping and patio furniture so the client can have a true idea of how large their pool and patio will be.

“I think it’s great that we can show a customer everything to scale,” says Jennifer Satterwhite. “Being able to include patio furniture will give them a much better idea of their space and having a visual makes a big difference.”

Unlike other pool companies, Puryear Custom Pools does not rely on subcontractors. When needed, they have the ability to utilize their own employees to ensure that each project can be completed in a timely fashion. While some pools can take as many as six months to complete, once construction begins Puryear Custom Pools can complete your custom pool in as few as 14 days. Once a pool is completed, the company takes its customers through “Pool School,” where they learn how to properly operate their equipment, test their chemicals.

“As much as you can communicate with someone, the better a project will go and the more they’ll be satisfied with the final product,” says Jennifer Satterwhite.
