Warrant Rocker Jani Lane Found Dead At 47

Warrant rocker Jani Lane has reportedly been found dead in a Southern California hotel. TMZ reports Lane’s body was discovered in a room at the Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills, California on Thursday night. Authorities have not determined a cause of death. No other details were released. Lane was 47. He is survived by four children, two ex-wives and his current wife Kimberly.

Lane, whose real name is John Kennedy Oswald, joined Warrant in the mid-80s and became the lead vocalist and main songwriter. He is responsible for writing the hits “Cherry Pie,” “Heaven,” “I Saw Red” and “Down Boys.” Lane left Warrant for the first time in 1993, but returned just one year later. He left the band again in 2004 and returned for a brief time in 2008. Lane released his only solo album, “Back Down To One,” in 2003.
