MOPH Launches New WebSite for Veterans Seeking Federal Employment

Military Order of the Purple Heart Launches New Web Site for Veterans Seeking Federal Employment

The Military Order of the Purple Heart is proud to announce the launch of a new web site, "www.VetsJobs.net", that is specifically designed to assist Veterans in obtaining Federal Employment.  The Department of Labor estimates that more than 100,000 new jobs will open in the Federal sector and Veterans will be given preference for employment to these positions.

The VetsJobs web site provides a video, “How to Get a Federal Job,” that walks Veterans through the process of applying for federal employment.  Prepared by the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the video presentation given by GYSGT John Bennett provides clear and concise information on how to prepare a resume and discusses the importance of completing the assessment thoroughly and completely.

The MOPH particularly wants to thank Oklahoma Congressman Dan Boren, the Veterans Administration Regional Office, Muskogee, OK, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Muskogee, OK and the Veterans Administration Delegated Examining Unit in Detriot, Michigan, who assisted in the development of the video.

Information is available at the VetsJobs web site concerning Veterans Preference and other issues related to Veteran Employment in the Federal Government.  It also includes links to USAJOBS, the official web site for federal jobs, State Employment Service, Department of Labor and the Office of Personnel Management.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) is unique among Veteran Service Organizations in that all its members were wounded in combat. For this sacrifice, they were awarded the Purple Heart Medal. With grants from the MOPH Service Foundation, the MOPH and its Ladies Auxiliary promote Patriotism, Fraternalism, and the Preservation of America's Military History. Most importantly, they provide comfort and assistance to all Veterans and their families, especially those requiring claims assistance with the VA, those who are homeless, and those requiring employment assistance.  MOPH volunteers provide assistance to Hospitalized veterans at VA sites and State Veterans Homes
