Los
Angeles Dodgers slugger Manny Ramirez has reportedly expressed an interest in
ending his career with the Cleveland Indians, the same club with whom he began
his career.
Ramirez
just inked a two-year, $45 million, deal prior to the beginning of the 2009 MLB
season following a 53-game stint with the Dodgers last year in which he hit .396
with 17 homers and 53 RBIs.
The
37-year-old Ramirez reportedly spoke with Chicago White Sox DH Jim Thome, a
former teammate in Cleveland, and mentioned the idea about the pair ending
their careers with the Indians. While Ramirez signed a two-year deal with the Dodger
she can opt-out at the end of this season and Thome is scheduled to become a
free agent at year end.
