Pasco County has been reported as the 38th fastest growing county in the country with a 30.6% increase since the year 2000. Its hometown bank, FNBPasco (First National Bank of Pasco), has been known for its reputation of financial strength and stability, having been honored consecutively by BAUERFINANCIAL with a 5-Star Superior rating – only 22 out of 325 banks in Florida to hold this status. FNBPasco’s Board of Directors has maintained a conservative posture despite the greed of Wall Street that led to the banking industry’s debacle. In their strategy to continue their stable growth, yet remain grounded in their community, they recently named Mr. Robert Sumner as their new interim President.
Sumner has a 40-plus year history of success in the banking industry, as well as a long career as a practicing attorney in the private and public sectors of Pasco County. Sumner is a long-time advocate of community outreach and says the majority of the bank’s employees are active in various community programs outside work, an aspect he feels is important for FNBPasco’s continued growth.
“Bob [Sumner] understands Pasco County,” said A.P. Gibbs, the Founding Father of FNBPasco. “In addition to sound financial management, banks need to be grounded in their communities more than ever these days.”
