Guinness World Records may be rewriting one of its most talked about titles following the discovery of Zhao Liang. The Chinese man arrived at a hospital in Tianjin to receive treatment for a foot injury but doctors stood amazed at the sheer size of the 27-year-old, an astounding 8-foot 0.7-inch measurement.
While the measurement has yet to be verified by Guinness the mark would easily hand the title of world’s tallest man to Zhao, eclipsing the 7-foot 8.95-inch stature of Bao Xishun.
Zhao had played basketball in his home province of Henan but his career ended a decade ago after a foot injury. For the past three year she has been working with a street art troupe in which he performs magic tricks and plays instruments.
Doctors have said Zhao’s foot injury was cleared up by surgery and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Guinness is expected to send a team to verify the height.
