Two Employees of Medecins Sans Frontieres Taken Hostage in Somalia

Gunmen in Somali have kidnapped two employees of the aid organization Medecins Sans Frontieres and are believed to be holding the pair in the central region of the country.

 

The two men had been traveling with their bodyguard when they were stopped in Hudur in the Bakol region. It is believed the kidnappers were members of the radical Islamist al-Shabab insurgent group.

 

The names of the MSF workers kidnapped have not been released but one is said to be Belgian and the other Danish.
