NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference Schedule: Orlando Magic Open Playoffs with Home Game Against Philadelphia 76ers

The #3-seed Orlando Magic begin their quest for their first NBA championship in franchise history with their Sunday game against the #6-seed Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.

Orlando flirted with the best record in the NBA’s Eastern Conference but a rough April that saw them go 4-5 relegated them to the third best behind Cleveland and Boston. That hasn’t bothered the Magic though as they rested several of their stars and with Dwight Howard and Rafer Alston playing solid and the expected return of Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu to the playoff lineup Orlando is a favorite to reach the Eastern Conference finals.

Philadelphia has limped into the playoffs having lost six of seven and will need to put the late season swoon behind them if they are to have any chance against the Magic. If the regular season is any indication that chance is slim as the Magic took the series 3-0 but all three games were relatively close. The 76ers certainly have some shooters as Andre Iguodala and Andre Miller can certainly score but they will need to find a way to minimize their mistakes and find a way to stop Howard down low while putting pressure on Orlando’s perimeter shooting.

Game one is set to tip off at 5:30 p.m. ET.
