Terrel Pryor Eligible for Supplemental Draft, with Conditions

The NFL has said that former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is eligible for the supplemental draft that will take place on Monday but he must sit out the first five games of the 2011 season. The penalty mirrors the disciplinary action that was originally given to him at Ohio State for accepting discounted tattoos in exchange for autographs.

Pryor is allowed to sign a contract with a team and play in the preseason but as soon as the season begins he will not be allowed to practice with the team or play in any games until Week 6. During his suspension he is allowed in the team's training facility to attend meetings and work with coaches.

Pryor's attorney David Cornwell said, "Ultimately we are pleased that Terrelle will have the opportunityt o fulfill his dream to play in the NFL. Personally, I hope this causes everyone to pause and conclude that we must challenge the NCAA on its 'amateurism' rules. Terrelle is going tot he NFL because the NCAA mandated that he feed their families, but he could not feed his own."
