Over 60 of Florida’s trial lawyers from notable Florida law firms and VIP guests gathered together for the Manasota Trial Lawyers Board Dinner and seminar hosted at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch.

Among the guest speakers was Attorney Richard Newsome, outgoing President of the Florida Justice Association (formerly Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers), who spoke on Product Liability cases. Jeff Porter, Central Florida Director of the Florida Justice Association, spoke about the upcoming Florida legislature session.

Other notable speakers included the founder and President of the Manasota Trial Lawyers Board, personal injury Attorney Bernard F. Walsh of Shapiro Goldman Babboni & Walsh, who gave a lecture on the intricacies of uninsured motorist coverage in auto and motorcycle accident cases. Also speaking was Michele Stephan, Esq., of Shapiro Goldman Babboni & Walsh, who lectured on the importance and techniques of jury selection for successful jury trials.

Underscoring the growing importance of the Manasota Trial Lawyers Board, VIP guests attending included Tom Knight, Sarasota County Sheriff and Ed Brodsky, Chief Asst. State Attorney.

“As an organization growing in importance on Florida legal matters, it’s no surprise the Manasota Trial Lawyers Board seminar was such a success,” said Attorney Bernard Walsh. “Having so many trial attorneys present for the discussion of promoting justice and fairness for injured persons and victims’ rights was a real honor, and illustrates how fortunate the people of Florida are to have so many top attorneys dedicated to this cause.”
