Diplomats Walk Out of UN Anti-Racism Conference as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Attacks Israel

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stood center stage at the United Nation’s anti-racism conference on Monday and launched a verbal assault on what he called the “racist government” of Israel leading many diplomats to walk out while the leader continued his tirade.

The conference has been marked by several disturbances as protesters voiced their displeasure with Ahmadinejad. Two men wearing clown wigs were escorted out after disrupting Ahmadinejad’s speech, one throwing an object at him while the other called him a racist.

Israel, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, New Zealand and the United States had boycotted the UN conference and within minutes of Ahmadinejad taking the podium the French diplomat got up and left.

Ahmadinejad took his time at the podium to accuse Israel of attempting to “establish a racist government in the occupied Palestine.”
