Steelers Down Eagles in Preseason Game
On Thursday night the Philadelphia Eagles and their newly assembled super team faced the Pittsburgh Steelers who had gone about the offseason in their usual quiet way. After theh game the dominant team was not the one who has been in the media for the last few weeks but the championship caliber Steelers.
Though it was a preseason game Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger looked to be in midseason form throwing for 125 yards and two touchdowns. His counterpart Michael Vick, who had been in the middle of a small controversy over comments he made in a GQ interview, had a horrible day. Though he only played the first half of the game he was picked off three times by the Steelers' defense and finished with a quarterback rating of 13.5.
The highlight of Vick's night may have been a tackle of Troy Polamalu after a 36 yard interception return. By the end of his time in the game Vick had only completed two more passes to his teammates than he had to the defense.
The Steelers first half consisted of two long touchdown drives that made the newly revamped Eagles' secondary ineffective. It was clear who the better team on the field was and which team was used to the success that the Eagles have been proclaiming they will achieve.
