Jimmy Dean and Wife Escape Fire at Virginia Home

Country music legend Jimmy Dean and his wife Donna Meade Dean escaped a fire at their Virginia home unharmed Monday evening.

The fire at the couple’s home overlooking the James River was reported at 8:05 p.m. Firefighters had the blaze under control several hours later.

Three firefighters from the Henrico County fire department suffered minor injuries. Dean, who is best known for founding the Jimmy Dean Food Company, and his wife were not injured.

The fire caused extensive damage to the basement, first floor and attic. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
