Craigslist Killer Fiance: He is Innocent

The fiancé of accused Craigslist Killer Philip Markoff insists he is innocent of the charges against him. Megan McAllister tells the Boston Herald she doesn’t believe Markoff could commit the crimes he is charged with.

“Philip is a beautiful man inside and out. He is intelligent, loyal and the best fiancé a woman could ask for. He would not hurt a fly,” McAllister said.

“I will stand by Philip as I know he is innocent. I love him now and always will,” she added.

Markoff, a med student at the Boston University School of Medicine, was arraigned today on charges of kidnapping, murder and illegal gun possession. He is accused of killing 26-year-old masseuse Julissa Brisman, who was found unconscious from multiple gunshot wounds at a Boston hotel on April 14. She later died.

Authorities had dubbed Markoff the ‘Craigslist Killer’ as they believe he responded to women’s ads on Craigslist.com with the intent to rob them. It appears that Brisman’s murder initially began as a robbery. "It appears that there was a struggle between the victim and the suspect in the threshold of the hotel room immediately prior to the shooting," the Boston Police Department said in a statement.

Police also believe Markoff is connected to two other robberies.
