NBA Western Conference Playoffs Schedule: Utah Jazz Facing Must-Win Game 3 as Los Angeles Lakers Continue Push for NBA Title

While the final score gives the impression that the first two games of the series has been relatively close the reality is that the Los Angeles Lakers have dominated the Utah Jazz in those two contests and will be looking to grab a 3-0 lead when they head into EnergySolutions Arena on Thursday night, a home court that the Jazz went 33-8 on during the regular season.

The Lakers have actually played the Jazz in three straight games as they knocked off Utah in the final regular season game and Los Angeles has shown no signs of becoming an upset victim. L.A. has been the model of efficiency over the first two games as they have used balanced scoring and a deep bench to just wear down the Jazz. It has appeared as if the Lakers have toyed with the Jazz so far as they have seen large leads dwindle down only to go on runs that would put the game at a comfortable distance.

Kobe Bryant has yet to just takeover a game as he has been a distributor rather than a scorer but has hit several key shots that have either ended a Utah run or started one for his club. Bryant has had plenty of support from Pau Gasol and Trevor Ariza on the scoring side while Lamar Odom has been big on the glass on the defensive end.

Utah will need to find a way to build off the home fans who have made EnergySolutions Arena a tough place for opponents. Carlos Boozer has to get some help from Deron Williams if the Jazz are to have any chance and if the team doesn’t improve on its 39 percent shooting in Game 2 the chance of catching the Lakers is slim

Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
