Craigslist Killer Philip Markoff on Suicide Watch

Alleged Craigslist killer Philip Markoff was reportedly put on suicide watch in a Boston jail Thursday. Law enforcement sources tell ABC News Markoff was put on suicide watch after officers found shoelace marks on his neck. The reports have not been confirmed.

Markoff, a med student at the Boston University School of Medicine, was arraigned today on charges of kidnapping, murder and illegal gun possession. He is accused of killing 26-year-old masseuse Julissa Brisman, who was found unconscious from multiple gunshot wounds at a Boston hotel on April 14. She later died.

Authorities had dubbed Markoff the ‘Craigslist Killer’ as they believe he responded to women’s ads on Craigslist.com with the intent to rob them. It appears that Brisman’s murder initially began as a robbery. "It appears that there was a struggle between the victim and the suspect in the threshold of the hotel room immediately prior to the shooting," the Boston Police Department said in a statement.

Police also believe Markoff is connected to two other robberies.
