Alternative Asset Analysis (AAA) has backed claims from Chicago-based commercial finance firm Clopton Capital, that attention is turning away from traditional assets and towards alternative assets.
Clopton’s founder, Jake Clopton, explained that the current volatility within the traditional asset classes, such as stocks and shares, means money is being transferred into alternatives to try to reduce the risk held in American investment portfolios. Mr Clopton explained to the press: “For those in the risky and possibly more lucrative mind set of investing in hedge funds, real estate and other alternatives to the low risk less potent investments, Clopton Capital has an excellent solution that carries both massive potential and relatively low risk."
Analysts at Clopton said they expect to take a year or more to built a clientele of affluent investors, but that they will then have exceptionally strong retention rates.
AAA supports investment in funds, such as the one offered by Clopton, but it is also keen to promote the range of direct investment opportunities there are available for those looking to move toward alternatives.
The analysis organization’s partner, Anthony Johnson, who has years of fund management experience, said, “For those eager to find new and lucrative ways to invest while minimizing risk held in their portfolios, there are a huge range of ethical and alternative options out there.”
AAA’s analysts claim that investing in forestry in emerging markets is a winning formula, with firms like Greenwood Management offering individuals the chance to buy up valuable forested land in Brazil, where non-native timbers are grown for export and use domestically in the booming steel industry.
Mr Johnson explained more: “Brazil is the place to put your cash at the moment. With the World Cup and the Olympics all heading there in the coming few years, along with an increasingly strong economy, industry is booming and the nationals are eager to spend their cash.”
