Plaxico Burress Catches Three Passes, One Touchdown in Return

Sunday night Plaxico Burress played in his first NFL game since 2008. Though it was a preseason game it was still important for him to show his new team that he was worth signing and showing the rest of the league that he could come back from a self-inflicted gunshot wound that could have ended his career. Burress ended the night with three catches for 66 yards, including a diving touchdown catch.

There were doubts about Burress's ability to return to the speed of an NFL game after spending 20 months in jail and turning 34 years old, but he has been adamant that he will be a dominant receiver in the NFL again.

Burress, coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez were all pleased with the outing and the ability that Burress brings to the team. Sanchez said of the 6'5" reciever, "I've never had a target like him."

On the other side of the ball the Cincinnati Bengals struggled with Any Dalton throwing two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns. He finished the game 8 of 19 for only 86 yards.
