Colt's Owner in Favre's Hometown
It is no secret that the Indianapolis Colts are going to be in the market for a veteran quarterback to ad to their roster. Peyton Manning, the offensive stalwart since they drafted him, has been having a more difficult time recovering from a procedure on his neck than the team anticipated leaving ownership scrambling to make sure they have a suitable replacement.
According to Colts owner Jim Irsay's Twitter account he had flown in to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the hometown of Brett Favre. The tweet referenced Brad Childress in asking for directions. Childress famously flew to Hattiesburg to bring Favre back to the Vikings for his last NFL season.
Favre's agent said that he had not heard interest from the Colts regarding his client but Irsay's tweets continued to reference his location. One referenced a musician, Robert Johnson, who supposedly sold his soul in return for guitar playing ability.
Favre has kept unusually quiet this season after suffering a tumultuous 2010 with the Vikings. Many NFL fans began to grow weary of him after constant announcements of retirement only to quickly turn around and announce that he would, in fact, play another season.
