The Reverend Timothy Wright, who was critically injured
in a car accident last summer, has died. Wright passed away early Thursday at
Bronx Veterans Hospital. He was 61. His cause of death was not released.
Wright was a Grammy-nominated gospel singer and composer
known for his up-tempo worship songs including ‘Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,’ ‘Who’s on
the Lord’s Side’ and ‘You Must Come in at the Door.’
The singer’s 1994 album ‘Come Thou Almighty King’ was
nominated for a Grammy for best tradition soul gospel album. He was nominated
again in the same category in 1999 for his album ‘Been There Done That.’
Wright was the pastor at Grace Tabernacle Christian Center
Church of God in Christ in Brooklyn.
Wright was critically injured July 4 in a car accident
