The Miami Heat bounced back from an ugly Game 1 loss and really dominated the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 and will now look to grab a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series on Saturday.
Dwyane Wade bounced back from a rough Game 1 in which he scored 19 points and had no offensive help to score 33 points and receive plenty of help in their Game 2 win. While Wade is obviously the key to the Heat offense the only way Miami can win is if he gets the help he needs. That was obvious in Game 2 as Daequan Cook went from a 2-point effort in Game 1 to a 20-point night in Game 2, Udonis Haslem from a 6-point effort to a 10-point 7 rebound night and Jermaine O’Neal from a 5-point night to a 19-point performance.
For whatever reason the Hawks defensive effort from Game 1 never carried over in Game 2 as they surrendered 41 more points in the second game and their offense hit a snag with Joe Johnson and Flip Murray struggling from the floor.
Miami will certainly be looking to replicate their three-point shooting from Game 2 as they buried 15-26 from that distance, a clear advantage over the Hawks 6-20 mark from the same distance.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.
