Chris Johnson to Meet With Titans
Chris Johnson posted on his Twitter page yesterday that he will be flying to Nashville to discuss his contract with the Tennessee Titans general manager in a meeting today. Johnson has been holding out since the beginning of camp and refused to report to camp until a new contract was completed.
Chris Mortensen has reported that Johnson is looking for a deal that will give him $39 million over the first three years. The Titans have repeatedly said that they will be willing to make him the highest paid running back in the league but Johnson maintains that he should be paid as one of the top overall playmakers.
The Titans new head coach mike Munchak said that the team is not entertaining trade offers from other teams for their three-time Pro Bowl back. He also said that despite a solid rushing game during their last preseason outing he doesn't think that the team picked up any leverage.
