NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference Schedule: Miami Heat Look for Commanding Lead in Series with Atlanta Hawks

After a dismal start to their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series the Miami Heat have dominated the past two games with the Atlanta Hawks and could take a commanding 3-1 lead on Monday night as the two teams meet in South Florida for Game 4.

Miami looked awful in the Game 1 loss in Atlanta as Dwyane Wade was held in check and his supporting cast did nothing to help him. That all changed in Game 2 as Wade scored 33 points and had plenty of help from Daequan Cook, Jermaine O’Neal, Michael Beasley and Udonis Haslem to even the series at 1-1. On Saturday it was the Heat’s turn to embarrass the Hawks as they dominated every area of the game as O’Neal and Haslem supporting Wade once again.

The Hawks look like they have collapsed since their impressive showing in game 1. They held the Heat to just 64 points in the opener but have since surrendered 108 and 107 while their offense has apparently gone into hibernation. Over the past two games All-Star Joe Johnson has gone 10-30 from the field and the perimeter game of Atlanta has been awful.

Atlanta will need to find their defense in Game 4 if they want to avoid a devastating 3-1 hole but the past two games have shown no real effort to return to the style of play that won Game 1.

Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
