NBA Playoffs Western Conference Schedule: New Orleans Hornets Look to Even Series as they Host Denver Nuggets in Game 4

The New Orleans Hornets overcame a 16-point deficit in Game 3 to grab their first win of their best-of-seven playoff series with the Denver Nuggets and they’ll be looking for their second straight win on Monday in hopes of evening the series at 2-2.

As has been the case all year the Hornets will look to Chris Paul to lead their attack. After being overshadowed in the first two games of the series by the Nuggets’ Chauncey Billups the Hornets’ guard shined in Game 3 with 32 points and 12 assists. Paul also got some help from David West and Rasual Butler, something that had been missing in the first two games.

Denver was certainly disappointed with the outcome of Game 3 as they had a solid shot at winning the game and taking a 3-0 lead but they have played pretty consistent in all three contests. The Nuggets didn’t get huge games from Billups or J.R. Smith in Game 3 yet still had a chance for the win. If either of those two show up on Monday the Hornets could be in for a long night.

The Nuggets will be looking to shut down Paul and by doing so force the rest of the Hornets to beat them, something they have not been capable of doing thus far. With all the weapons the Nuggets possess New Orleans will have to put pressure on the defensive end and force bad shots while limiting second-chance points.

Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
