LSU Quarterback's Apartment Searched After Fight at Bar
After allegations of his involvement in a bar fight last week police searched Louisiana State University's starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson's apartment on Wednesday and collected a DNA sample. According to Sgt. Don Stone, Jefferson was cooperative in the investigation and the police did not ask him any questions about the incident.
The police took several bags of evidence from Jefferson's apartment but it was not immediately clear what the bags contained. On Tuesday Jefferson - along with teammates Chris Davenport, Josh Johns and Jarvis Landry - were interviewed by police to determine their role in the fight.
The fight happened in the parking lot of a local bar where many LSU players were celebrating the end of two-a-day practices. Four people were hurt in the fight, the most serious injuries included three broken vertebrae.
No arrests have been made in connection with the fight but charges could range from misdemeanor simple battery up to felony second-degree battery.
The teammates interviewed with Jefferson were expected to be reserves this season but Jefferson figured heavily into coach Les Miles's game plan. So far he has not removed Jefferson from the starting position but first-team practice snaps have been split with backup Jarrett Lee.
Police are having a difficult time finding objective witnesses in the case with most statements containing a bias towards the victims or in favor of the players.
