NBA Western Conference Playoffs Schedule: Portland Trail Blazers Need Win to Stay Alive, Houston Rockets Look to Advance

After a blowout win in Game 1 the Houston Rockets have collected a three-point win in Game 3 and a one-point win in Game 4 and now sit one game away from advancing past the Portland Trail Blazers in their best-of-seven Western Conference playoff series as the two teams meet for Game 5 on Tuesday night.

The Rockets crushed the Trail Blazers in Game 1 behind huge games from Yao Ming, Ron Artest, Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks but Portland bounced back in Game 2 as Brandon Roy poured in 42 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 27 points and 12 rebounds to even the series at a game apiece. Houston was able to take advantage of their home court, winning both games by a combined total of four points. Portland expressed frustration with the officiating in both those games, pointing to the amount of calls that favored the Rockets.

Now the Trail Blazers are back on their court where they posted a 34-7 record during the regular season and if they want their playoff run to continue they will need to find a way to stop Yao Ming while getting Brandon Roy open looks. Houston has frustrated Roy with defensive pressure from Artest and Shane Battier and if they can clamp down on him once more the Trail Blazers will need somebody to step up and carry the offensive load.

Tip-off is set for 10:00 p.m.
