RBI Solar Ground Mount Racking Systems Selected For 28 Mw Sunpeak Project

RBI Solar, Inc.("RBI") has been selected by SunPeak Solar, LLC (“SunPeak”) to supply and install the solar racking systems for a 28MW solar energy generation plant located in Niland, California. SunPeak is the owner of this outstanding project, which will make Niland the first all solar powered city in the nation.

RBI has already installed over 10,000 posts to support 100,000 polycrystalline silicon modules. This fixed-tilt, ground mount solar project covers just less than 130 acres of land and when complete will supply electricity to more than 14,000 homes in Imperial County.

RBI is using its standard ground mount system for this project -which is considered the solar industry’s strongest and most durable ground mounts solution. RBI’s ground mount solar racking systems are designed to use less posts than traditional racking systems, this makes the solar installation fast and economical. On average, the RBI on-site crew will install over 600kW per day.

RBI’s team of structural engineers worked with SunPeak to design a ground mount solar racking system ideally suited to the local environment and site conditions. RBI took into account module dimensions, soil conditions, seismic zoning and meteorological considerations when designing the system. Of particular note are the oversized, concrete pier foundations which will ensure uninterrupted, long-term system performance.
