Jayson Hunter reveals a healthy eating plan for stress free living

Registered dietitian Jayson Hunter reveals three stress busting foods to include in your healthy eating plan. He believes that adopting a healthy eating plan can really help in reducing your stress levels and improve your health and lifestyle.

Hunter explains, “Stress can cause a lot of damage to your health and it is known to be linked to diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. A healthy eating plan loaded with stress reducing foods can make a big difference to your mental well being”. He adds, “A traditional healthy eating plan tends to focus on keeping you physically fit often ignoring your state of mind”.

Here are three stress reducing foods to include in your healthy eating plan:

1) Green leafy vegetables – Didn’t our moms always tell us to eat more vegetables. Including more green leafy vegetables like broccoli in your healthy eating plan can reduce your stress levels.

2) Load up on Fruits – Aim to eat about 3-4 servings of fruits a day. Fruits are a good source of many vitamins and minerals. Antioxidants, vitamin C and selenium are known to be helpful in reducing stress and anxiety.

3) This is Nuts – Your healthy eating plan should include a serving of nuts every day. Nuts like almonds are loaded with vitamins, minerals  and essential fatty acids which are known to help regulate mood and relieve stress.
