NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs Schedule: Philadelphia 76ers Facing Must-Win as they Host Orlando Magic in Game 6

The Orlando Magic will be without Dwight Howard on Thursday night when they look to deliver the knock-out punch in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Howard won’t be dressed as he is serving one-game suspension for his elbow to the head of Samuel Dalembert and that could pose serious problems for the Magic.

Howard has been the key to all three wins for the Magic and playing without him will place Orlando in serious trouble on the glass and no go-to guy on the offensive end. Without his presence down low the 76ers will likely look to drive more and not rely exclusively on their perimeter game. While Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala have had solid series they could definitely use some help on the offensive end from some of their big guys.

Philadelphia remains confident in their ability to beat the Magic and will look to put them away as early as possible on Thursday and get their stars some rest heading into a Game 7. The Magic would like nothing more than to put the series to rest on Thursday as it would prove they could win without Howard but they will need more than just Hedo Turkoglu to step up, especially because Courtney Lee is out for the remainder of the series with a fractured sinus.

For Orlando to pull off the upset they will need big games from Rafer Alston and Rashard Lewis and Howard’s replacement, Marcin Gortat, will need to provide some sort of presence on defense.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
