NBA Western Conference Playoffs Schedule: Houston Rockets Return Home with Chance to Take Series with Portland Trail Blazers

After keeping their season alive with a comfortable Game 5 victory over the Houston Rockets the Portland Trail Blazers face their second straight win-or-go-home game on Thursday night as the two teams square off in Texas with the home team holding a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference playoff series.

The Rockets split their two games in Portland to start the series and then won both home games on their home court to take a 3-1 advantage back to the Pacific Northwest but the Trail Blazers stood tall in their must-win situation and forced the series to Thursday night.

Houston has had great play from Aaron Brooks and Yao Ming along with Ron Artest and Luis Scola and that balanced attack has been their biggest advantage as the Trail Blazers continue to rely on Brandon Roy despite having several offensive weapons that could ease the burden.

While the Rockets won both their games in Houston it was by a combined four points and the Blazers have shown no real sign of being intimidated by their opponent. Houston would love to jump to a quick lead and force the Blazers to play from behind, something they haven’t been able to do since Game1.

Tip-off is set for 9:30 p.m. ET.
