A brutal attack at a daycare in eastern China on Monday left at least two children seriously wounded and six others with minor wounds. Chinese state media reports a 30-year-old female worker at Xiaofuxing Daycare in the Minhang district of Shanghai suddenly began attacking the children in her care with a knife.
Five boys and three girls between the ages of 3 and 4 were wounded. They suffered cuts to their necks and faces. The children were treated at a nearby hospital. The woman was arrested and the attack is under investigation. Media reports say the woman had worked at the daycare, which is mainly for the children of migrant workers, for about three years and may have psychiatric problems.
