Quantum Learning Network, an Oceanside, California-based company that teaches advanced learning skills to teachers, students, and administrators has successfully implemented a program to teach similar success skills to parents.
QL Education, which has been in effect since 1982, introduced Quantum Learning for Parents in 2008 in response to the positive feedback received from parents who have participated in SuperCamp, a 10-day academic summer camp for teens, and corporate parent programs over the past 15 years.
Similar to other successful QLN programs, Quantum Learning for Parents (QLP) offers learning and communication tools for parents to become more effective and involved in their kids’ lives. During the three-day weekend programs, parents learn content such as strengthening family bonds, building a positive parent-child relationship, Supporting each others needs through joint problem solving, the power of praise, the four steps to building a healthy brain, how to build rapport with their child’s teacher, and many other great tools that will lead to more efficient success for the parent and the child both at home and at school.
QLP programs can be customized to a group’s specific needs, time availability, and budget. A program can range from one weekday evening up to a comprehensive two-day weekend session, and even three day programs that coincide with SuperCamp, which is hosted on multiple college campuses across the country including Wake Forest University and Cornell University. Parent programs are capable of running concurrent to a Quantum Learning for Students program for the QLP parents’ children, or it can stand alone. QLP can also be integrated with Quantum Learning for Teachers, and Quantum Learning for Administrators professional development programs within a single school or throughout a district.
