NBA Scores Eastern Conference Playoffs: Miami Heat Blowout Atlanta Hawks to Force Game Seven on Sunday

Dwyane Wade scored 41 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, Michael Beasley added 22 points and 15 boards and Mario Chalmers finished with 8 points and 9 assists as the Miami Heat blasted the Atlanta Hawks 98-72 on Friday night to even their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series at 3-3 and force a Game 7 to be played on Sunday.

The Hawks managed to hang close over the first six minutes of the opening frame but the Heat went on a 15-3 run that pushed their advantage to 30-15 and they led 32-18 at the end of the quarter with 14 points coming from Wade. Miami led by as many as 17 points in the second but the Hawks chipped away at their deficit and managed to get as close as 43-35 before settling for a 9 point hole at the break.

For all the energy spent climbing back into the game in the second quarter Atlanta threw it all away in the first five minutes of the third as Miami opened with a 10-0 run and after Josh Smith stopped the bleeding for the Hawks the Heat got a pair of triples from Wade and the lead was 67-44 and Atlanta looked like they had mailed it in. Miami never let up and led 78-56 heading into the fourth. The Heat led by as many as 30 in the fourth as they paid the Hawks back for their blowout loss in Atlanta in Game 5.

Atlanta shot just 37 percent from the floor and were outrebounded 47-36 on the night.
