http://www.openfit.com/hearingaids recommends the following plan of action:
1. Find the names and contact information of your Representatives. From the following website, you can find names, phone numbers, addresses and email addresses of Senators and Representatives: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml. You will also be able to send a message by email by using the Contact Me button.
2. When you contact them, make your letter personable. For example: “Dear Senator James, My husband’s hearing loss is affecting his ability to remain at work. We are retired on a fixed income and cannot afford the thousands of dollars needed to purchase a set of hearing aids. Please consider supporting the Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act”
3. Tell your friends about the hearing aid tax credit and ask them to contact their officials also.
