Texas Woman Believed to be First U.S. Resident to Die from Swine Flu

A Texas woman is believed to be the first U.S. resident to die from the swine flu according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

 

According to several reports the woman was said to be in her 30s and was living in Cameron County, near the U.S. border with Mexico. While the unnamed woman is believed to have died from the H1N1 virus the TDSHS also said she had been suffering “chronic underlying health conditions.”

 

Texas has confirmed 61 cases of the H1N1 virus.
