A
bombing at a vegetable market in a mostly Sunni district of Baghdad has left at
least 10 people dead and more than 30 injured.
The
blast occurred around 7:00 a.m. in the district of Dora, an area of Baghdad
that is heavily populated by Sunnis, and appears to be yet another example of
sectarian violence that has been on the rise in Iraq’s capital city.
Just
hours after the market blast a car bomb exploded in the shopping district of
Karrada. That attack left one dead and several more injured.
Despite
the increased trend in violence inside Baghdad the United States will still be meeting
the June 30 deadline set for troops to withdraw from urban areas of Iraq.
