NBA Scores Eastern Conference Semifinals: Boston Celtics Take Control Early, Cruise Past Orlando Magic to Even Series

Rajon Rondo recorded his third triple-double of the playoffs with 15 points, 18 assists and 11 rebounds, Eddie House poured in 31 points and Ray Allen finished with 22 points and 6 boards as the Boston Celtics opened up a big lead and cruised to a 112-94 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night to even their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series 1-1.

Boston came out firing in the opening frame as they built a 20-10 advantage before J.J. Redick got hot and got the Magic to within five with a trio of three-pointers and the Celtics lead was 26-21 at the close of the quarter. Orlando stayed close over the first few minutes of the second and Anthony Johnson had them within four after burying a triple but the Celtics went on a 10-1 run to build a 41-28 cushion and they led by as many as 19 in the frame before settling for a 61-46 advantage at the break.

The Magic managed to get within 13 following a Dwight Howard bucket but then Boston went on a 10-0 run to move in front 75-52 to bury Orlando. The Celtics extended their lead to as many as 26 in the fourth quarter before Orlando went on an 8-0 run but Eddie House scored the next six points to stop the Magic momentum and boost the lead back to 24.
