When you’re doing chores around the house, is your personal safety paramount in your mind? It should be. Using unsteady chairs or stools to reach high places is an accident waiting to happen. BrandStar’s The Balancing Act TV show on Lifetime Television presents Tracy Whelpley from Cosco Products, makers of light, strong and durable ladders and step stools, with safety tips for working in elevated places. The segment will air on May 13th and in the coming weeks. It can also be viewed anytime at www.thebalancingact.com/COSCO.
“Women today are handling more chores around the home,” she notes. And that includes tasks like washing windows, replacing light bulbs and cleaning over-the-counter cabinets.
Got spring cleaning to do? Don’t drag out heavy, bulky ladders. And chairs are great for sitting, but are not safe platforms for standing, especially in bare or stocking feet.
Cosco, a 65-year-old home and office products manufacturer that leads the industry in folding furniture, “offers a line of ladders and step stools that are lightweight, store easily and have a lot of innovative features designed specifically for women.”
Safety is the company’s main concern in the design of ladders and step stools for people working indoors or outside. Whelpley says to be sure the tools fit the task – and that equipment is steady before you climb up to clean a gutter or repair a light fixture.
“It’s just not worth it not to be safe, so use ladders and step ladders for jobs that require climbing,” she says.
“Cosco step stools and ladders are the perfect fit for families taking on more household chores,” said Doug Campbell, Executive Vice President of Programming, BrandStar Entertainment, the producers of The Balancing Act TV show. “They add a necessary measure of safety and security.”
