BrandStar’s The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television Examines Home Safety and Security for Seniors

There’s no place like home. And with one company’s innovative product, you can continue to enjoy the comforts of your own residence, secure that if you fall or have a medical emergency, help is just a button push away. BrandStar’s The Balancing Act TV show on Lifetime Television presents Anndee Soderberg, talking about ADT’s Home Health Security Services and, in particular, one geared toward senior citizens. The segment airs May 11th or can be viewed at anytime at www.thebalancingact.com/adt.

“During these tough economic times,” she says, “everyone is looking for ways to save money, especially seniors, who are on fixed incomes.”

ADT, she notes, offers elders an affordable option -- Companion Services -- specifically designed for their unique needs.

“Companion Services allows a senior to speak directly to an ADT home health security professional at our monitoring center, which operates 24/7,” Soderberg explains.

“Seniors wear a personal help button as a necklace or wristband which can send a signal up to 300 feet.  It is waterproof and can be accessed from anywhere in the house – including the bathroom, where many falls occur.”

Soderberg cites an AARP Health @ Home Survey which states, “More than 80 percent of seniors and caregivers believe home safety devices would help them have greater peace of mind.”

ADT adds another measure of security.  Its Companion Services professionals “are specially trained to cater to the needs of elderly callers, understand the physical challenges seniors face and keep them calm until help arrives.”

“With this affordable, security device, seniors can remain independent and live with dignity in their own homes,” Soderberg notes.

“Many seniors want to live independently,” said Doug Campbell, Executive Vice President of Programming, BrandStar Entertainment, the producers of The Balancing Act TV show. “This device can make that happen.”
